God loves you. His love is an immeasurable circle. It can’t be contained, yet it lives in us. His love can’t be bought or sold because we are told to give it to others. His love cannot be separated from God because God is love. God’s love is unending like a circle.
Let’s repeat that! God love you! We are all in need to be constantly reminded of His love. Why? because there are many things in this life that want you to forget that you are loved. People all over the world want to know and feel loved.
We wanted to design a small mini book as a reminder of God’s love for you. This activity let’s kids create a book of circles that illustrate the story of God’s love from the beginning of Creation to His Son giving His life to show how big His love is for us. Even when the world was at its worst, God still loved. When you feel unloveable, just remember that God loves you!
Romans 5:6-8
You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die.
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Use this book with kids as a reminder of God’s love at Easter or all year every day! Not only can this project be a fun activity with the kids, but you can explain the story of God’s love and use it for Bible verse memorization.
Like the days circle around to a new year, God’s love is a circle of love and light for us to walk in day after day.

We love because He first loved us
1 John 4:19
We love because He first loved us.
How do we know of God’s love? We learn more about the love of God through His Word, the Bible. We can’t learn much about a book’s characters, plots or storylines if we only read the book from the middle or just skip around to the pages we like.
The same can be said for knowing more about God if we aren’t reading His Word.
The Bible gives us the love story of God, His Son and the relationship with His creation. To learn about God’s love for you, you need to begin at the beginning
God's love story begins with light
Genesis 1:1-3
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
The very first words God spoke into creation were, “Let there be light.”
Light is an amazingly powerful creation that pushes away darkness. With light we can see, colors appear and plants grow and produce what is needed for us to live.
We need light.
But we also need God’s Light. His Light allows us to see clearly in this world when the darkness tries to confuse us and conspires against us. The world’s darkness is a place where evil lives and thrives. But because God’s Light is so powerful, we do not need to fear the dark or evil, we just need to use the powerful Light God provides us.
The Word is Jesus
There are two verses in the Bible that start with the words, “In the beginning…”, Genesis 1 and John 1.
And both passages talk about Light!
John 1 gives us very important details about creation that many people cannot see, know or believe. The more into the first chapter of John you read, the more you can see Jesus clearly in the words.
John 1:1-3
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
The Word was in the beginning, with God, was God and through Him all things were made.
So who is the Word? Let’s keep digging.
The circle of light!
When we read more in this same chapter we discover important details about Him and area given a name for the Word.
John 1:4-5
In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.
The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
Did you see that in the Word was life and light for all mankind?
Isn’t is comforting to see that the light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it? It is definitely comforting for us to know that light always wins.
But the sad part of this chapter is found in verses 9-11.
True Light came into the world
John 1:9-11
The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world.
He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him.
He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.
The Word, the true light of the world, came into the very world He created and it did not know Him. His own creation did not recognize or receive Him.
True light gives light for everyone to see, but not everyone is willing to see the Light.
The Word became flesh
In the beginning of creation, God spoke light into existence. Then on day 4, He gave us the sun, moon and stars as reminders of light. Though light existed before these celestial beings, each light being has a purpose for us on this earth.
John 1 tells us that Jesus is the light for all mankind and is the one and only Son of God.
John 1:14
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
God gave us the light of the sun to see each new day.
He gave us the light of His Son, to live with Him forever.
John 3:16-17
For God so loved the world
that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
God loves you
The world did not know the Son, Jesus, and did not receive Him. The world which was created through Him, rejected Him.
Sin covered the world like a black blanket causing it to be less and less like the creation God designed that was light and good by being more and more lost in darkness. The people on earth had forgotten the relationship with their Creator. For a while, it looked as if the darkness would win.
But God had not forgotten His creation. He loved the world so much that He gave His Son as the sacrifice to cover the world with His love. The darkness was pushed away by the Light and the relationship with God was repaired.
The word atonement means to be at one with God.
This is true love.
John 4:9-10
This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.
This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice
for our sins.
On a Friday, Jesus would die on the cross and His body placed carefully in a tomb.
From the Heart of the earth to your heart
Matthew 12:40
For as Jonah was three days
and three nights in
the belly of a huge fish,
so the Son of Man
will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
The leaders in the town feared that someone would steal His body so they placed a large round stone to seal the entrance to the tomb. Guards were placed to protect the tomb from outsiders, but inside they had no power for what would transpire.
Saturday was dark to the people who did love and know Jesus. His followers and family were stunned, sad and scared. They knew Jesus had come to be their King and save them, but what would they do now that He was dead?
Something glorious, bright and light was shining in that dark tomb of death. It was something no one could even imagine.
Day 3 began with the Son shining bright and rising early in the morning in the garden.
You see, God was coming full circle with His creation. He began the world with light and then planted man in a garden. He would soon show His light to His people in a garden.
He is risen!
God was also bringing His creation full circle in other ways.
The large circle of stone placed at the entrance of the cave was rolled away!
Jesus destroyed the darkness of death and brought life to light through the gospel, which is the good news.
2 Timothy 1:9-10
He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace.
This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus,
who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.
The light is in your heart
It is good news because you too have this light in you to push away the dark and know your God.
The good news is that your sins are forgiven.
2 Corinthians 4:6
For God, who said,
“Let light shine out of darkness,”
made his light shine in our hearts
to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.
You say I am loved
Now that we know what love is, will you believe Him when He says you are loved?
You are loved!
God loves you.
You have a purpose!
Wondering what your purpose is?
Walk in love and be a light.
Ephesians 5:1-2 & 8-9
Follow God’s example, therefore,
as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth)
Jesus fills you so that you can in turn love and be a light to others in a continuous cycle. Be circle of love and light to the world by showing them who Jesus is.
Bible verses about Jesus from the cross to the empty tomb
The week leading into those 3 dramatic days in the life of Jesus are referred to the Passion Week. Though the Bible is not written in chronological order, you can read the separate accounts from the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John to create a timeline. All 4 men give the good news that Jesus died for the sins of the world through their individual perspectives.
