Though the Bible never calls the Devil a snake, may refer to the serpent in the Garden as a snake. The creation known as the world, at that time, consisted of Adam, Eve, the serpent and God.
Other than the all the amazing items from the days of creation, that’s it. No technology, no career, no kids, no expensive house, car or thing to distract them from their walk with the Lord.
But there was a crafty serpent.
That serpent turns out to be a smooth talker who twisted, conspired and crafted a big fat lie for Eve and Adam to listen to rather than what God had told them.
You see God had made them in His image and then looked at His creation and said it was,”very good”. The more Eve listened to the serpent, the closer Eve walked to disobey.
The serpent deceived Eve into believing she wasn’t good enough, needed to be more and lied about the consequences.
Adam and Eve would eat the fruit from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil and immediately their eyes were open to see they were naked. How did they react?
Hiding from God rather than walking with God
They made themselves clothing out of itchy scratchy fig leaves to cover their nakedness. Then they hid from God among the bushes. The Creator of the world and all that is in it went walking in the Garden to walk with His people.
Where did He find them? Yep, in the bushes trying to look like trees rather than the image of their Creator.
God never intended for them to look like trees.
But the crafty lying enemy has not changed tactics and is still scheming to distract, deceive and devour God’s people from remembering who they are and their purpose.
