About Us
We get asked all the time, “What do you do?”
“What does the knot stand for?”
“How did you get started with your business?”
We decided that our “about us” section on the website was way to long to explain those questions. We tend to be rather wordy when we talk! If the average female has 5,000 words a day to speak, we probably have 100,000 between us!
The long version of who we are:
A long time ago (at least it seems like it)….
God tied two creatively crazy women together who are passionately in love with Him.
We are an aunt and niece team, bound not only by human blood, but by the blood of the Lamb. Nina married Carrie’s uncle Ray, but most people think we’re sisters.
Nina is rocking the wings and Carrie and pigtails!
We are partners in creativity, friends by choice, and sisters through our relationship in Christ. We live, love and thrive on our relationship with our Heavenly Father.
Our passion overflows as God has laid on our hearts a longing to share this relationship with the world around us.

We have been accused of being joined at the hip….or that we share a brain.
Usually, we finish each other’s sentences…..if we even complete a sentence.
Most of the time, we can look at each other and KNOW what the other is thinking!
The crows feet around our eyes are not just from getting older…. but from laughing so much!
Creative energy keeps us crazy,
Dark chocolate keeps us sane
And God smiles, because just about the time we think, “this is life”, He takes us on another journey.

Sharing God’s word is our mission. Our project, “forget Him knot” allows us to harness our God given creative energy and ideas into an avenue for His glory (and to keep our husbands from going crazy.)
We find ways to “forget not the LORD” in all areas of life, but we simplified it to 4 main areas where we blog, teach and create products :
Art & Creativity- Bible Studies & Homeschool- Home- Weddings.
While we were raising and home schooling our teens in this busy world, we realized how easy it was to allow distractions to cause us forget God on a daily basis.
When we forget God, we think we can do this life on our own with our own strengths and abilities.
God brought our focus to His Words in Deuteronomy 6:4-9:
“These are the commands, decrees and laws the LORD your God directed me to teach you to observe in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess, so that you, your children and their children after them may fear the LORD your God
as long as you live by keeping all His decrees and commands that I give you, and so that you may increase greatly in a land flowing with milk and honey,
just as the LORD, the God of your fathers, promised you.
Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one.
Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your strength.
These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts.
Impress them on your children.
Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road,
when you lie down and when you get up.
Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.
Write them on the door frames of your houses and on your gates.”
Forget not the Lord
The inspiration to help others “Forget not the Lord” comes straight from the Holy Spirit’s work in our lives. The Bible is our guide for every move we make and every word we teach.
Our desire is to be continually focused on God in all aspects of our life. We are enthusiastic women whose desire is to show the world the joy that comes from a relationship with God.
If there is anything positive you see in us, know that it comes not of us, but of God’s Spirit at work in us.
Why “Knot”?
We are often asked what the “knot” means in our name “forget Him knot.”
Since we love a fun play on words, we brainstormed many ideas and combined them into a knot.
We took the “not” from the forget-me-not flower (which represents remembrance) along with the “not” from Psalm 103 (that states to “not forget the Lord”), the three strand cord from Ecclesiastes 4:12 and the blue tassel from Numbers 15:37-41, and “knotted” them all together.
This created a knot as a reminder to not forget the Lord and all of His benefits.

It’s so important to forget Him knot!
Throughout God’s Word, there are reminders telling us to “remember God and His commands,” “do not forget the Lord,” and “keep these words.”
In the Bible, God even gave His people ways to set up “reminders” to help them remember Him and His Words. For some it was a rainbow, stacks of stones, a tree, an altar, plagues, children in old age, the commandments written in stone, parables…..the list is numerous.
Over and over God tells His children to forget not the Lord and all of His benefits.
If God says something once, it is important, if He says it twice, we better take special notice.
But, if He repeats Himself over and over we better start listening to the importance of the message!
Remembering our relationship with God is not a one time event or even a once a week event. It is a constant, daily walk as we grow and mature into a deeper relationship with our Heavenly Father. God wants us to continually remember Him. In Deuteronomy 8, God continues to remind His people that when their houses were built and filled, their land planted their bellies full and all that they had was multiplied, to remember the Lord their God who was the source for all their blessings. Why?
Because when our world is “going well” we all have a tendency to forget we need God.
The mission of forget Him knot is to always remember our need for a relationship with God.
The products and ideas found at forget Him knot will always remind you the importance of a relationship with God.
Forget Him Knot believes God is not only important but that He is our everything…..our life! We want to share this passion with others.

Nina and Carrie (two fellow forgetful women) both live in the Birmingham area with their families.
These two extremely visual and joyful (usually laughing) women can be found teaching art, scavenging thrift stores, decorating weddings and events, teaching Bible classes, writing Bible studies and books for children….
and getting into all sorts of creative trouble!
