John 1:1-5
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 He was with God in the beginning.
3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.
5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
Jesus is the Word. He was active in the creation of the world and all that is in it. He was there in the beginning with God along with the Holy Spirit. That’s a lot of creative power at work! God spoke the entire world into existence through the Word, Jesus.
His Word today is just as powerful! If we allow it to work in us, it will transform us into a new creation that looks more like the Him.
From the beginning of creation, you were part of a plan.
You are no accident.
The world cannot tell you who you are apart from God because it had no part in creating you. You will hear the world tell you that you need to be more, have more, do more and then that what you are doing isn’t good enough. But it is lies.
There’s always another product, another exercise, another diet to help you on your journey to be more but the results don’t always help us find who we are.
Unfortunately, we may find ourselves a carbon copy of someone else who also doesn’t know who they are! “Keeping Up With the Jones”….. or whomever is the current influencer, will always have you chasing after something you were not meant to be.
Why?
Because you were not meant to be a copy of someone else other than the fearfully and wonderfully made unique individual being renewed in the image of your Creator.
Colossians 3:9-10
Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices
10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.
The Creator of the world could have made it black and white and we would not have known any other color.
He chose to give the world light that allows colors to be displayed and the details so tiny that even our eyes cannot see them all. He did so because He could and it brought Him pleasure.
He did the same with you!
The Creator of the world and all that is in it made details so amazing that no two snowflakes, leaves, grains of sand and even your fingerprints are unique.
The world can identify you by your fingerprints, but can’t see that those amazing lines point back to the Creator.
